I was first introduced to gypsy jazz music when my brother gave me a DVD documentary on the gypsy jazz violinist, Stephane Grappelli. When I moved to Madison, I found some folks who were fellow gypsy jazz enthusiasts and jammed in various places around town. I met Phil Schwinn, an amazing mandolin player, at one of these jam sessions and am happy to see that his band, 4th Street Elevator, has gained quite a following in Milwaukee and Madison!
I introduced Mike to gypsy jazz as performed by 4th Street Elevator the evening when we decided to see each other exclusively! We are extremely happy to share the music played by the band that set the tone of our relationship from the very start!
Phil says that the band will welcome wedding guests to jam with them after dinner! Since we have a very musical set of guests, we encourage all of our musically inclined guests to bring instrument(s) and play with this talented band!
Please check out the playlist if you're interested in jamming!

New Venue and City Selected!
Due to various factors, Mike and I decided to shift the wedding location from Chicago to Madison.
The logistics of communicating with venues and caterers in another city has been slightly difficult even with the extraordinary assistance from Joan and Rita. We feel that folks have plenty of reasons to visit Chicago besides attending a wedding but may not think about visiting the lovely city of Madison. Since we live here, we will be able to guide you around town while you're here for the wedding!
We found a cute and unique venue for the ceremony and reception - the Madison Children's Museum! We will host the ceremony on the rooftop and dine in the art studio on the second floor. The dance floor also has a human hamster wheel!

Next step is to secure a caterer!

We might have a venue selected!
We hope everyone had a fantastic Fourth of July!
Mike and I are just starting our wedding planning with great help from Joan and Rita! Rita and Scott took us to Elawa Farm yesterday for a peek as a possible venue.
I had my doubts about the site at first because it seemed that we would have to handle a lot of the logistics on our own. However, seeing the farm in person and chatting with the curator convinced us that this is the perfect place! We will be discussing details with Elawa Farm soon! Wish us luck on securing this venue!
